Kdo nem\u011bl v rodin\u011b \u0160kodovku a\u0165 ji\u017e v minulosti, nebo nyn\u00ed, z\u0159ejm\u011b byl a je raritou. Dodnes je \u0160koda nejprod\u00e1van\u011bj\u0161\u00ed zna\u010dkou aut na na\u0161em \u00fazem\u00ed a toto prvenstv\u00ed si pr\u00e1vem dr\u017e\u00ed ji\u017e p\u011bknou \u0159\u00e1dku let.  Historiet\u00e9to \u00fasp\u011b\u0161n\u00e9 zna\u010dky se za\u010dala ps\u00e1t 17. prosince 1895, kdy u zrodu byli dva nad\u0161en\u00ed cyklist\u00e9, V\u00e1clav Laurin a V\u00e1clav Klement. Nezalo\u017eili v\u0161ak, jak by se n\u00e1m zd\u00e1lo logick\u00e9, automobilku, ale v\u00fdrobnu j\u00edzdn\u00edch kol, ta nesla n\u00e1zev dle jejich p\u0159\u00edjmen\u00ed tedy Laurin &amp; Klement. Jeliko\u017e v\u0161ak byli vynal\u00e9zav\u00ed, motor se po \u010dase opravdu objevil. Av\u0161ak poprv\u00e9 op\u011bt na jejich kole. Kola s p\u0159\u00eddavn\u00fdm motorem si z\u00edskaly spoustu p\u0159\u00edznivc\u016f a tak\u00e9 n\u011bkolik ocen\u011bn\u00ed ze z\u00e1vod\u016f. Automobil vyslala na sv\u011bt spole\u010dnost v roce 1905, dostal n\u00e1zev Voiturette A. Tak\u00e9 on m\u011bl \u00fasp\u011bch a zajistil tak vzkv\u00e9taj\u00edc\u00edmu podniku v\u011bhlas a stabilitu na automobilov\u00e9m trhu. Po slou\u010den\u00ed se \u0160kodov\u00fdmi z\u00e1vody v roce 1925 pak zna\u010dka Laurin &amp; Klement zanikla. Nezanikla v\u0161ak v\u00fdroba automobil\u016f.  Mezi nejslavn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed vozy p\u0159edv\u00e1le\u010dn\u00e9ho obdob\u00ed pat\u0159\u00ed bezesporu \u0160koda Popular, \u0160koda Superb, \u0160koda Rapid a \u0160koda Favorit. Posledn\u00ed t\u0159i jmenovan\u00e9 modely se do\u010dkaly v budoucnosti nov\u00fdch verz\u00ed. Ji\u017e tato \u010dty\u0159i auta zajistila, \u017ee \u0160koda z\u00edskala prvenstv\u00ed v tuzemsk\u00e9 prodejnosti. Nezam\u011b\u0159ovala se v\u0161ak jen na m\u00edstn\u00ed prodej, ale exportovala vozy i do zahrani\u010d\u00ed. B\u011bhem druh\u00e9 sv\u011btov\u00e9 v\u00e1lky a tak\u00e9 po n\u00ed do\u0161lo k \u00fatlumu. V\u00fdroba se soust\u0159edila pouze na jeden model, tedy na renovovan\u00fd Popular, nov\u011b p\u0159ejmenovan\u00fd jako \u0160koda 1101\/1102. Pozd\u011bji byl vyvinut prostorn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed model a to \u0160koda 1200, po n\u00ed n\u00e1sledoval model \u0160koda 440 Spartak, pozd\u011bji nahrazen prvn\u00ed Oct\u00e1vi\u00ed.  V \u0161edes\u00e1t\u00fdch letech p\u0159ich\u00e1z\u00ed \u0161kodovka s novinkou \u0160koda 1000 MB. N\u00e1sleduj\u00edc\u00ed typy \u0160koda 740, 720 a 760 z\u016fstaly pouze v teoretick\u00fdch sf\u00e9r\u00e1ch a dal\u0161\u00edmi re\u00e1ln\u00fdmi vozy, kter\u00e9 skute\u010dn\u011b vyjely na silnice, byly \u0160koda 100\/110 a \u0160koda 100 R. Za n\u011bjak\u00fd \u010das p\u0159ich\u00e1z\u00ed inovace v podob\u011b \u0160kody 105 a 120, kter\u00e9 je\u0161t\u011b ob\u010das na na\u0161ich silnic\u00edch lze spat\u0159it. Dal\u0161\u00edm modelem byl pak i mlad\u0161\u00edm ro\u010dn\u00edk\u016fm zn\u00e1m\u00fd model \u0160koda Favorit. V roce 1991 do\u0161lo k integraci automobilky \u0160koda s koncernem Volkswagen a i p\u0159es tuto zm\u011bnu je nutno konstatovat, \u017ee se j\u00ed da\u0159\u00ed i nad\u00e1le. Nov\u00e9 modely, kter\u00e9 pod touto zna\u010dkou vznikly, byly zejm\u00e9na \u0160koda Felicia, modern\u00ed Octavia, Fabia, Superb, nelze p\u0159ehl\u00e9dnout malou \u0160kodu Citigo, prostorn\u00e9 vozy Roomster a Yetti a k posledn\u00edm model\u016fm je nutno tak\u00e9 zapo\u010d\u00edtat \u0160kodu Rapid, Kodiaq a nejmlad\u0161\u00ed model Karoq.
